Spry Workwear is a heritage-inspired women’s clothing brand. We design a range of beautiful, practical clothes for style-aware women who want their clothes for the whole journey, not just the season. Key to our range is the Spry Classic boiler suit, which we offer in a range of colours and fabrics, and which is being worn by all sorts of creative practical women, from artists and actors to designers and gardeners. It continues to be picked out by costume departments, fashion editors and stylists and is due to appear in a number of films this year (fingers crossed). We also sell dresses, aprons and shirts, and we have dungarees, jackets and trousers in development.
Our clothes are made in small batches in the UK, predominantly in East Anglia, enabling us to work closely with our manufacturers to ensure both the quality of the make, and the well-being of our highly skilled seamstresses. We use traditional, hard-wearing fabrics- cotton twill, denim, cotton canvas and corduroy- which will soften and fade the more they are worn and worked. Fabrics are sourced in the UK where possible. All of our garments are machine-sewn and finished by hand.
We sell direct to customers through our website, and at a number of live events, pop-ups and festivals. Many customers come to us via referrals, and having seen positive reviews of our products in the consumer press. They tend to be discerning about quality, and to appreciate that we are the antithesis of fast, throw-away fashion, and are keen to support British manufacturing. While some are buying into the current trend for boiler suits, the majority come to us for the quality, design and longevity of our clothes.
